Resources for Evaluation of ADHD & Learning Differences (dyslexia, dyscalculia, etc)

Bainbridge Pediatrics is not able to make a new diagnosis of ADHD for children 12 years and over.

Once your child is 12 years of old, classroom and parent Vanderbilt surveys are not adequate for possible ADHD evaluations, and must be completed by a psychologist (holding a degree of PhD or PsyD in psychology). They can usually also help with learning difficulties like dyslexia and dyscalculia.

In rare cases, a psychiatrist or a pediatrician specializing in behavioral pediatrics/neurodevelopmental pediatrics may be able to complete the diagnosis of ADHD.

NOTE: School psychologists do not evaluate patients for ADHD and will not be able to help with the initial diagnosis; however, they do help with school and classroom-based resources, IEPs, and 504s.

Once you locate the professional you would like your child to see and have made an appointment, we will be happy to send a referral, if one is needed.
